Upcoming workshop by Hayo Reinders (September 2023)

We are excited to welcome back Professor Hayo Reinders to the KUIS campus from Monday, September 11. He will be available for consultations and research advice (information on meeting with him will be sent to KUIS faculty and staff later). While he is here, Hayo will also be offering the following workshop:

Learner Engagement: What it is and How to Measure it

In this practical workshop we will explore the concept of learner engagement. We will discuss its vital importance in language acquisition as well as consider its many manifestations. Next, we will look at ways in which we as teachers and researchers can recognise, measure and acknowledge its presence in our classes.

This workshop is open to all KUIS faculty, staff, and students.

About the presenter:

Dr. Hayo Reinders (www.innovationinteaching.org) is TESOL Professor and Director of the doctoral programme at Anaheim University in the USA as well as Professor of Applied Linguistics at KMUTT in Thailand. Hayo is Editor of the journal Innovation in Language Learning and Teaching (published by Taylor & Francis) and edits a book series on “New Language Learning and Teaching Environments”. He founded the Institute for Teacher Leadership. His interests are in teacher empowerment, learner autonomy, and educational technology. 

Advisor Education Course 3 Registration Deadline Reminder

This is a reminder that Course 3 (“Advanced Course”) in our Learning Advisor Education Program will be held September 7 to October 8.

Registration closes soon, on September 3. The course is open to anyone who has completed Course 1.
